How artificial intelligence can streamline presentation creation
The Gamma platform uses artificial intelligence to transform a user’s prompt, text, or uploaded file into a structured presentation. The tool generates an initial version with titles, text, layouts, and visual elements, which can be manually adjusted or modified using AI commands.
How AI-powered slide creation works
To begin, users access the platform and select the option to create a new presentation. The system offers three options: generate content from an idea, format existing text, or import a file.
Users who prefer to start from scratch can describe their needs in the prompt. The more details provided—such as target audience, objective, and approximate number of slides—the more tailored the AI’s proposed structure will be.
Example command: Create an 8-slide presentation on productivity with artificial intelligence for marketing professionals. Include practical examples, benefits, limitations, and a final slide with recommendations.
The system then generates an initial structure. Users can modify titles, text, images, layouts, and other elements before presenting the material.
Importing existing files
If a user already has a document with information, they can import the file. The AI organizes the content and converts it into a sequence of slides, while the user verifies that the selected information accurately represents the original material.
While AI can expedite the creation of the initial version, it does not replace the need for professional review. Data, numbers, names, sources, and conclusions must be verified before the presentation.
Export options and available formats
After editing, users can present directly on the platform or export the file. Options include PowerPoint, PDF, and PNG, as well as the ability to transfer the file to Google Slides using the PPTX format.
There are differences between formats. In PowerPoint, tables can be exported as editable elements. Some visual features may behave differently outside the platform. PDF and PPTX exports created on the free plan display the platform’s watermark.
Why use AI for presentation creation?
A Microsoft Work Trend Index study analyzed aggregated and anonymized data from Microsoft 365 and found that employees are interrupted, on average, every two minutes by meetings, emails, or notifications. In this context, AI tools help reduce time spent on operational tasks.
However, an automatically generated presentation may contain generic information, errors, or a structure unsuitable for the audience. Therefore, the process does not end with slide generation.
Before a meeting, it is advisable to check items such as the information and numbers used, data sources, the logical sequence of slides, excessive text on each page, content suitability for the audience, and any confidential data entered into the tool.

Artificial intelligence can handle part of the presentation assembly process, especially when time is limited. The professional’s role now includes defining the objective, selecting information, and reviewing the produced material.
