How AI helped a recent graduate land a senior role at DoorDash
In a competitive job market where many applications go unanswered, Margareth Felicia Gono’s story stands out. A recent master’s graduate in applied analytics, she used artificial intelligence to streamline her job search and secured a senior associate position at DoorDash, a delivery company.
Application dashboard and job analysis
Gono fed Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, with job descriptions and her resume. The system identified missing keywords and thematic gaps relative to each job ad, essentially creating a personalized version of an ATS score. ATS software is used by companies to filter resumes based on relevant terms, and in some cases, the analysis indicated that applying would be a waste of time, leading to the job being discarded.
Three tailored resumes based on a diagnosis
Beyond evaluating jobs, the tool acted as a career advisor. In an article published by Business Insider, Gono described Claude as “almost like a partner.” The conversation helped her identify three professional interests: communicating with people, creating visually appealing materials, and identifying patterns.

Based on this diagnosis, she created three resume versions: one for data analysis, one for sales and marketing, and one for consulting. Each version was used to apply for jobs in the respective field.
Analysis of recorded interviews and recruiter profiles
In the next phase, Gono applied sentiment analysis to recorded interviews, identifying moments of hesitation, language tics, and instances where the interviewer showed greater interest. She also asked Claude to review recruiters’ public LinkedIn profiles to find common ground that could make conversations more natural. The process resulted in three final stages and culminated in a job offer from DoorDash.
How to adapt the method and what precautions to take
A useful practice is to record in a simple table the date, position, application channel, response, and stage reached. After a few weeks, you can compare jobs that generated a response with those that didn’t and identify which resume terms repeat in each group.
Recording interviews requires participants’ consent, and personal information from third parties, such as recruiters’ profiles, should be handled carefully. It’s also essential to review the tool’s suggestions, as the choice of jobs and resume content remains the candidate’s responsibility.
Gono’s experience highlights four AI applications in job searching: tracking applications, comparing resumes to job requirements, defining professional profiles, and reviewing interviews. The result was an offer after three final stages.
