Brazilian leaders face the challenge of integrating artificial intelligence into business

2–3 minutes

Artificial intelligence is already part of daily life for many Brazilian executives. However, knowing how to use it is just the first step in a broader transformation.

For those in leadership roles, the current challenge is to figure out how to incorporate technology into strategic decisions, improve processes, and prepare teams for an increasingly automated environment.

A 2026 survey by Page Executive found that 75% of Brazilian executives interviewed use generative artificial intelligence in their professional activities. In Latin America, the rate reached 74%, up from 41% in 2024, according to the Executive Compensation & Talent Trends 2026 study.

These figures show that the technology is gaining ground among experienced professionals. The question now is how to develop skills that will enable this interaction to be translated into concrete business results.

What do companies expect from leaders who master AI?

Mastering specific tools is not enough to drive change within an organization.

Leaders need to identify which activities can be automated, evaluate the results produced by technology, and recognize situations that require human analysis.

This means knowing how to interpret information generated by AI tools, compare scenarios, and question answers that appear inconsistent. The ability to connect these resources to the company’s needs also helps avoid investments in solutions that do not solve real problems.

A report by the CEMS business school alliance, published in 2026 and released by FGV, underscores the importance of critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and ethical decision-making. The analysis warns of the risks of excessive trust in automated answers.

How to develop skills in artificial intelligence

The first step is to identify recurring tasks in one’s own routine that could be performed with the support of technology.

Examples of activities that can be tested with generative tools include preparing reports, organizing information, summarizing documents, and comparing alternatives.

However, experimentation must be accompanied by evaluation. Compare the result produced by AI with the work done without it, checking the quality of the information, the time saved, and the need for corrections. This process helps to understand where technology offers real gains.

Another essential skill is learning how to formulate good instructions, known as prompts. The clearer the objective, context, and expected criteria, the greater the chances of obtaining useful answers.

The role of leadership in adopting technology

Preparation should not be limited to individual use. Leaders need to establish criteria for the use of AI by teams, guide the protection of confidential data, and define which decisions cannot be made without human supervision.

Communication also becomes more important. Explaining why a tool will be adopted, listening to concerns and sharing learnings helps reduce resistance and prevents technology from being incorporated without clear objectives.

Tools change rapidly, but the ability to evaluate information, understand risks, and make responsible decisions remains essential for those who lead people and businesses.
