Amazon’s Bee Unveils Two AI Wearables: Frontier Wrist Device and Eclipse Smartphone Clip

2–3 minutes

Expanding AI Note‑Taking Beyond the Ear

Since Amazon bought Bee last year, the personal‑AI wearable maker has rolled out its first new lineup. The company introduced the Bee Frontier, a next‑generation wrist‑ or lapel‑mountable gadget, and the Bee Eclipse, a credit‑card‑sized clip that sticks magnetically to a smartphone’s back.

Pricing and Market Positioning

The Frontier is priced at $74.99, while the Eclipse costs $99.99. By contrast, competing devices such as the Plaud Note start at $159 (or $189 for the Note Pro) and the Pocket AI device is $129. The lower price points place Bee in direct competition with those products while targeting a broader audience.

Design and Color Options

  • Bee Frontier: Onyx, Lavender, Sage
  • Bee Eclipse: Silver, Midnight, Honey, Blush

Core Functionality

Both devices capture everyday conversations, generate summaries, and turn key points into actionable to‑dos, calendar invites, and insights. For example, a plan made with friends is recorded, the date and time are remembered, and a calendar event is created automatically. Users can also capture lecture notes, medical care plans, or any discussion that needs a written follow‑up.

Free and Paid Service Tiers

All Bee hardware provides free conversation summaries and a 14‑day memory window. A $11.99 per‑month Bee Pro subscription unlocks unlimited summaries, integration with Amazon.com, Alexa+, and third‑party apps, suggested to‑dos, daily memory highlights, a personal chat assistant, and conversation templates.

Security and Privacy Architecture

Bee employs a private computing security model that never stores raw audio. Audio is processed in real time and then deleted. Transcripts are encrypted with keys generated and controlled by the user’s device, preventing anyone—including Amazon staff—from accessing them unless the user explicitly shares them. Users can delete transcripts and summaries at any time.

Optional Alexa Integration

Owners may link Bee to Alexa, allowing an Echo device to use Voice ID to recognize when the user is speaking. This optional connection lets Alexa record conversations to enhance Bee’s insights and enables hands‑free queries for summaries, to‑dos, or Amazon purchases.

Compatibility and Productivity Features

Bee syncs with existing productivity tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook to draft emails, schedule meetings, and surface action items. Users can also upload photos or connect the device to Apple’s HealthKit to incorporate wellness images into their insights.

Hardware Highlights

  • Single on/off button with indicator light during summarization
  • IP67 water resistance (Frontier)
  • Up to seven days of battery life (Frontier)
  • USB‑C charging
  • Dual microphones with advanced noise filtering

Software Companion

Every Bee device ships with a newly redesigned mobile app and a new desktop application, providing a unified experience across platforms.
