Meta’s Muse AI Agent Expands with Avatar, Smart‑Glass Integration, Mac Support, Email, and Shopping Partnerships
Meta unveiled its personal AI assistant Muse just weeks ago, and the company is already accelerating its rollout with a suite of new capabilities. At the annual Connect event in Menlo Park on Wednesday, CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted Muse as the centerpiece of Meta’s consumer‑AI strategy, describing it as a future “personal superintelligence” that could serve billions of users worldwide.
Digital avatar for Muse
Zuckerberg announced that Muse will soon gain a visual identity. The agent’s physical avatar will be called Jolly, and a new multimodal model called Muse Realtime Avatar will enable real‑time video chat, giving the AI a face, body, and voice. This feature, demonstrated on stage, is designed to make interactions more personable while retaining the agent’s ability to receive tasks and answer questions.
Muse coming to Meta smart glasses
In the coming months, Muse will be woven into Meta’s smart‑glass lineup. Users will activate the agent with a wake word and can ask it to guide personalized workouts, log meals, schedule appointments, or assist with purchases seen through the glasses. Meta said the assistant will run in the background and report back once tasks are complete.
Muse support for Mac computers
Meta is extending Muse’s desktop capabilities to macOS, allowing the agent to control any application on a user’s computer. Chief AI officer Alexandr Wang explained that users can delegate work—whether running a small business or completing routine tasks—and walk away while Muse continues operating. The functionality mirrors similar agents from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Muse will receive its own email address
Because Muse operates continuously, Meta is developing a dedicated email address for the agent. The feature, expected soon, will let users add Muse to email threads or forward messages for it to handle. No precise launch date was provided.
Shopping partnerships and connectors
Muse is positioned as a shopping companion, with integrations to major payment and retail platforms. The agent can browse Shopify’s full catalog and complete purchases using Link by Stripe, Shop Pay, and PayPal. New retail partners include Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair, Expedia, and Instacart, alongside connectors for GitHub, Granola, and Notion.
Meta also opened its platform for developers to build custom “connectors,” receiving more than 1,500 applications in less than a week. Wang described the response as a “generational opportunity” for developers to contribute to a rapidly expanding ecosystem.
Together, these updates illustrate Meta’s ambition to make Muse an indispensable, always‑on assistant that handles everyday tasks, personal management, and commerce—all while remaining free for a large volume of usage and eventually generating revenue through transaction fees.
