Anthropic and Accenture invest $2 billion in AI security and establish a team of evaluators
Multi-billion dollar investment in AI security
Anthropic and Accenture announced on Saturday, 19th, that each company will invest at least $1 billion over the next five years in artificial intelligence security, totaling $2 billion.
The agreement includes the creation of an integrated team of evaluators who will collaborate closely with Anthropic’s internal teams and security partners. This team will assess AI models, conduct red teaming tests—which simulate potential attacks—and alignment tests, and verify the security mechanisms of the systems.
Team dedicated to AI testing
Accenture has announced plans to establish a specialized team focused on artificial intelligence, security, and various economic sectors to collaborate with Anthropic.
“Security requires both deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of how AI is used in the real world. Integrated evaluation is an emerging field, and we are excited to partner with Anthropic to accelerate the development of integrated evaluators, which we believe will be a critical part of the security landscape moving forward,” said Julie Sweet, Accenture’s Chair and CEO.
Faculty acquisition strengthens Accenture’s capabilities
As part of the partnership, Accenture also aims to leverage its expertise in artificial intelligence and security through the acquisition of Faculty, a company specializing in applied AI.
Faculty specializes in testing and evaluating models for artificial intelligence laboratories and develops systems for sectors such as government, defense, healthcare, and infrastructure.
“Partnering with Anthropic as integrated evaluators is exactly the kind of work Faculty was created for—and, as part of Accenture, we have the platform to execute it on a scale that can truly transform the industry,” the executive said.
