Anthropic launches beta dashboard and animation tools for Claude

2–3 minutes

The new tools entered beta testing on October 8.

Claude Dashboards: interactive panels with automatic updates

Claude Dashboards enables users to access corporate data and generate interactive charts. Users can connect a data platform, such as BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake, or a customer management system like Salesforce, and ask questions in natural language. The system retrieves information, creates charts, and keeps the dashboard updated whenever data changes. For example, users can compare current week records with those from the previous month. Each chart displays the query used and the last update date, helping to verify the source of the data.

Claude Motion: animations created from plain text

Claude Motion converts everyday language commands into animations. Anthropic provides an example of transforming a quarterly report into a 30-second explanatory video for a general meeting. Users can adjust elements via chat or the editor and download the result as an MP4 file. This file can be opened in tools like Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, and Runway for further editing.

How Motion works

According to Anthropic, Motion does not use a video generation model. Instead, it generates code that animates text, graphics, shapes, and images provided by the user. This approach eliminates synthetic scenes and AI-generated characters, allowing users to modify a word, number, or scene duration without redoing the entire project.

Availability and plans

Claude Dashboards is available in beta for Anthropic’s paid plans, including Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. Claude Motion is also in beta but is limited to the Team and Enterprise plans. In Enterprise accounts, both features are disabled by default and must be enabled by an administrator in the organization’s settings.

Anthropic has also exited beta for Claude Docs, Slides, and Design, making them available across all plans, including the free tier. The company reports that users have created over 45 million documents, presentations, and designs in Claude. Files can be exported to PowerPoint and PDF, and dashboards and animations can be shared outside the organization if permitted by the administrator.

How to get started

Anthropic recommends that users directly request what they need, such as a quarterly revenue dashboard by region or an animation comparing pricing plans for a sales meeting. The result is a first version, and users decide what to share. Users of Claude Design at its standalone address, claude.ai/design, have until December 14 to migrate, as the standalone version will be discontinued.
