Ghost launches $3,499 personal AI computer Core after raising $11 million
Ghost, a startup founded by 19-year-old Zain Javaid, announced a $11 million funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz on Monday, 5th, and unveiled Core, a personal AI computer priced at $3,499.
A computer for personal AI
Core is designed to run personal agents—systems that perform tasks and use everyday information to assist users. According to the company, the device runs AI models locally, connects apps, files, and devices, and builds up context over time, allowing AI to function continuously without requiring a new request for each interaction. Examples of use include reminders about appointments, shopping, and changes in routine.

The hardware combines an Nvidia RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition graphics card and an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 processor. Ghost says the models run entirely on the device and that the product is sold without a subscription.
Local processing and privacy
The approach of keeping processing on the device itself is part of a trend towards expanding AI directly on devices, where tasks are performed on a phone or computer instead of relying exclusively on remote servers.
Diego Aguiar, an executive at Qualcomm, stressed that protecting data also requires security, transparency, and control over its use.
For Core, continuous operation, local processing, and customization are the features announced by Ghost, which promises to use the information connected by the user to provide assistance with more context.
From investment to launch
In addition to Andreessen Horowitz, the round included participation from Abstract, Audacious Ventures, SV Angel, and Nova, according to TechCrunch. The first batch of Core went on pre-sale the same Monday, with delivery scheduled for the last week of October.
